On a visit to Belfast we visited my husband's old stomping ground in the heart of the city. The Morning Star, originally opened in 1810, is now a trendy, farm-to-table pub and restaurant. We stopped by for a pre-lunch drink. I can’t really handle beer any more – being a delicate old lady – but I can manage an occasional Guinness. The Morning Star is tucked away on a side street and is a welcoming place. This painting depicts a quiet moment leading up to lunchtime before the office workers are let loose. Very pleasant. This one is oil on paper.

The house on the Lake at Chatelaudren

On a sunny day in June I went out for a plein aire day with some of my art buddies. Chatelaudren has an huge lake and the lucky owner lives in this elegant old stone house right on the edge. 16” x 13”

Marais in the Rain - Large

The Marais is a famous Jewish quarter in Paris and is full of wonderful little shops and ateliers. Amid the winding cobbled streets you find unexpected historic cafes and buildings dating back hundreds of years. Great for a stroll or a shopping tripm you can happily spend a lot of time here. And it’s even beautiful in the rain.

Late Night in Le Mans

If you want to see the actual town of Le Mans off-season is the best time to visit. We were there to see friends, but the center city mostly closed down after 9.30pm. We found an inevitable Irish bar that was still open. It was filled with rowdy youngsters but they were perfectly pleasant to us fogies.
